Fishing For Compliments

'We’re incredibly impressed with the excellent work Soil and Surf have carried out at a number of our rental properties to make sure gardens are the perfect place to relax. As well as all things garden related, they know a thing or two about seafood too! If you’re staying in any of our self catering properties, why not let them give you a demonstration before you tuck into some of the freshest seafood you can get?!' πŸŒΏπŸŸπŸ¦‚πŸŒ±'

'For over 10 years now, Jim has maintained my holiday lets in the beautiful village of Pittenweem. What is so fantastic about Jim, is that not only is he reliable and conscientious, he is extremely versatile.

The Soil and Surf name is highly appropriate; I have commissioned Jim for many and varied works, including the design and build of bespoke driftwood fencing sourced from the local beaches, garden furniture and planters.

Jim also maintains the gardens all year round, and his choice of flowers is always creative and a talking point for passers-by. In addition to gardening and furniture making, Jim is perhaps even more famous for his delicious seafood. It is the highlight of our trip and indeed for many of our clients, when Jim drops round his crab and/or lobsters, wearing his yellow wellies and a broad smile (honestly the best I have ever tasted). I wholeheartedly recommend Soil and Surf and look forward to enjoying their services for many years to come.'

‘Jim is a #hero. Happily he wrangled this huge vine, removed it and tidied up after. He can do big jobs and small. Just tell him what you want done. Want someone to work with that completes the job with a twinkle in his eye - AND can sell you prawns? Jim is your man.’ - Kathleen Matson, Pittenweem - a Soil and Surf client

"Jim Knox combines the jobs of a bespoke fishmonger and a raconteur of fishing lore"

"I just wanted to say a huge thanks to The Fisherman's Larder for the presentation and canapes on Thursday afternoon. Jim clearly knew his stuff when it comes to crab dressing and the anecdotal tales really brought the demonstration to life. The international visitors were so interested in the demonstration and learning more about brown crab.  They loved the canapes and it was so nice that you both stayed around for a while to chat with them afterwards. I would definitely be happy to work with you both on other events we have planned in the future."

"The Fife Food Network's "Food from Fife" initiative has been closely involved with Jim on a number of events, and it has been a pleasure to see him work with seafood, demonstrate his skills, and share his knowledge and enthusiasm with members of the public. He is a star!" - Viv Collie @ Food From Fife
